Soundtrack.net has a photo essay on the "Transformers" scoring process led by composer Steve Jablonsky. The recording comprised of 66-strings, and 18-brass players, which were recorded seperately and then mixed together.

The score is comprised of six major themes totalling approximately 90-minutes in length. Mr. Jablonsky says that the classic theme is not figured into the score. He has, however; worked on a new version of it and it may appear at the end credits of the movie or on the song soundtrack.

The music that was recorded for the announcement teaser was worked into the score. In addition to that, Mr. Jablonsky also worked on music for the multi-platform "Transformers: The Game" by Activision, Inc.
