"Transformers" producer Don Murphy is suggesting in a recent message on his message boards that the quiet regarding a sequel to the summer blockbuster "Transformers" is due to the possibility of a strike in June 2008, which is a triple-threat of the screenwriters, actors, and directors. Whether or not a strike happens is unknown, but Mr. Murphy explains why the studio is waiting it out. "[S]ince no one wants to be filming IF a strike happens, everything needs to be done filming by the end of May 2008," he writes. "So this is affecting the lack of news about Transformers 2 at least for now." Note: This article originally specifically called out the screenwriters strike when in fact it is a three-sided threat.
