ShopGuide To Buying Transformers in the UK
Where to buy and what they cost.
There are several mainstream highstreet toy shops that sell Transformers in the UK. These are The Entertainer (www.thetoyshop.com); Toys R Us (www.toysrus.co.uk), Toymaster (www.toymaster.co.uk). Hasbro (www.hasbro.co.uk) also stocks a fair few at good prices.
Other high-street stores that keep a comprehensive stock are Woolworths, Argos and Index.
For your rare collectibles Epic Heroes (www.epicheroes.com) sell some absolute must have transformers.
I have listed the shops individually and what there current stock appears to be in stock or to order as of 18/12/03. I have included the approximate price where I believe it to be correct.
The Entertainer (www.thetoyshop.com): This has various shops in the UK but has an excellent online store with most of the Transformers Armada series available. They seem to have varying quantities in store but usually have Optimus Prime, and the early Armada series toys. Visit the online store to get the main stock:

Gigacons (£25): Galvatron, Tidal Wave, Megatron
Maxcons (£20): Powerlinx Red Alert, Red Alert, Starscream, Predacon, Scavenger,
Supercons (£10): Sideswipe, Thrust, Hot Shot, Cyclonus, Smokescreen, Sideways Demolisher,
Minicons (£7): Road Assault Team, Road Wrecker Team, Emergency Team, Air Military Team, Adventure Team, Destruction Team, Sea Team, Night Attack Team, Street Speed Team, Space Team, Air Assault Team, Street Action Team, Air Defense Team, Land Military Team, Race Team.

Toys R Us (www.toysrus.co.uk): Our old favourite from has come up with the goods this year. Online stock is a bit poor but you can get Unicron (£59.99), Armada Prime (£37.99), Armada Gigacon [type not specified], Armada Maxcon [type not specified], G1 Prime (£19.99), G1 Starscream (£14.99), G1 Jazz (£19.99), G1 Powermaster Prime (£39.99).
However in store there is a whole feast of transformers to choose from. This will vary from store to store unfortunately.
Armada Unicron (£59.99), Optimus prime (37.99), Galvatron, Megatron, Jetfire, Tidal Wave, Skywarp, Scavenger, Thundercracker, Sideways, Blurr, Supercon prime, Hot shot, Demolisher, Cyclonus, Smokescreen. All Minicons are available except the Emergency Team and Air Military Team.

G1 Prime (£19.99), G1 Starscream (£14.99), G1 Jazz (£19.99), G1 Powermaster Prime (£39.99). G1 Hot Rod (£9.99)
RID Electronic Optimus prime and Ultra Magnus, spychanger tins, Armorhide, Rotor, Rollbar, Movor, X-Brawn/Scourge mini packs.
Woolworths: has some good choices in which are made even better at the moment because they are 3 for 2: They also have had Overload in.
Armada Skywarp (£20), Optimus prime (£38), Supercon Prime (10), Tidal-Wave (£23), Galvatron (£23), Overload (£20), Thundercracker (£20) + various other Supercons and Minicons. Role play Armada Star Sabre and Dark Sabre at (£15)
Toy Master (www.toymaster.co.uk): also keeps a reasonable stock of the early Armada figures depending on the location.
Epic Heroes (www.epicheroes.com) has a fine selection of rare transformers for the UK. This includes:
G1 Takara Japanese reissues including Starscream (£34.99), Inferno (£28.99), Megatron (£69.99), Astrotrain reissue (pre-order) (£29.99), Soundwave (£44.99), Minibot Team Reissues (includes BumbleBee, Gears, Cosmos, Warpath) (£29.99).
A whole host of the MyClone Japanese figures and PVC figures.
Optimus Prime 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Takara version (pre-order)(£69.99)
Alternators, Smokescreen, Hound, Sideswipe and Silver Streak (all pre-orders except smokescreen)(priced between £40-50).
Japanese Armada figures including Unicron, Wheeljack, Hoist, limited edition Ex Dimension Minicon repaints
Hasbro UK also has the usual armada stock but it does have Unicron at (49.99) which is the cheapest in the UK
Suprisingly Tesco Extra stores get some in and they had Armada thrust and sideswipe in before the others
I hope all of this helps people who are trying to buy transformers in the UK.
I believe these stores and stock lists to be reasonably correct, mainly because I have purchased my collection from the above stores. I have checked the online stock lists today (18/12/03) and they are up to date
