Former Hasbro PR Agent Joe Moscone Auctions Off Collection For Charity
RAC - Friday, May 08, 2015

Joe Moscone, formerly the PR agent that handled Hasbro's entertainment brands such as Transformers, GI Joe, etc., is auctioning off his collection of figure for charity. For the benefit of Receptions For Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, Moscone is auctioning off a fairly impressive collection heavy on convention and SDCC exclusives. Most notably for Transformers fans, he's auctioning off the reasonably rare OTFCC Sentinel Maximus figure. Keep reading for more info!
Thank you for considering placing a bid on one of the items in our auction. I want you to know that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of each and every item in this auction will go to Receptions For Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, an incredible organization devoted to providing hospitals, doctors and scholars across the nation the resources necessary to treat and enrich the lives of those affected by various forms of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Our team, the New Jersey Grabowskis, has been supporting Receptions For Research since 2010. In that time, we have raised nearly $59,000 for this wonderful organization! THANK YOU for all you’ve contributed to help them continue to make a positive impact on the lives of those battling these debilitating diseases.

We’re making a difference!

A bit more about the items you’re bidding on:
I worked at a PR agency from 2004-2014. I spent almost 10 years exclusively servicing Hasbro’s Entertainment Brands (e.g., Transformers, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, etc.). The items that I chose to auction for charity this year are from my personal collection of toys and collectibles. They’ve been taken care of—i.e., stored away from sunlight in dry conditions, etc. However, some are certainly not as meticulously cared for as many of you care for your collectibles. While the packaging might be dinged, nothing is heavily creased/bent, crushed, etc. All items are complete with no missing parts. Photography for each of the items is unique to the item you are bidding on. We didn’t source web photos for this auction. If you have any questions about the item(s) you’re bidding on, please contact us.

How long will we be auctioning items?
Our plan is to post 7-day auctions through mid-June, each with a new selection of approximately 15 items. Items from the prior week’s auction that didn’t sell will carry over. Please keep coming back to see what’s been posted!

Again, thank you for visiting our auction and best of luck placing your bids!

All our best,
Joe & Cait

To close out Combaticon Awareness week, we look at Onslaught! While there are a couple toys we'll be discussing, the one we're mainly talking about is one that, while not a combiner, deserves not to be forgotten in the way or newer, more Bruticus-ready Onslaughts. During the long development cycle of Jagex's Transformers universe, a great deal of secondary media was created to support it. One company contracted to do some of that work, Mi, has come forward to reveal their hand in that process, samples of motion comic "episodes" that would have been used to advertise and promote the then-upcoming game. But as the winds shifted on the project, this facet was ultimately shelves. Click through for excerpts of the firm's recollections and a link to the article with the videos.
TFormers forum member TheTfboy wrote a special article for Radio Free Cybertron's Transformersdom blog about his first hand experiences with Jagex's long-developed, short-lived Transformers game. Presented in the format of a timeline of events, TheTfboy explains happenings players observed that may not have been apparent to the rest of us, and shows how long the writing was on the wall for the game's ultimate demise only months after it reached the open beta stage. Keep reading for an excerpt, and then check out the original article!
Jagex's Transformers Universe game has run the course of its short life, but the project had a lot of art designed for it, and the artists that contributed have been posting their work for all to see. We have a range of pieces from Oliver Miles and Sam Beattie including elements that never had a chance to be used in the game. Adam Turnbull has also posted a few video clips to his Vimeo account including function demos and cinematic elements, which we've got embedded below. Click through to check out everything!
Transformers Universe, the online multiplayer game from Jagex is quite dead, and artist Tom Stockwell has posted several pieces of art related to character designs used or intended for use in the short-lived game. The depicted characters generally have a Mentor title denoting non-playable and generally previously established characters like Arcee or Megatron. It's a good look at some reinterpretations within the Prime style, and some completely new takes. Keep reading to see it all!
