G1 Cartoon Hits Blu-Ray In Japan - Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers & Transformers 2010 Multi-Pack
RAC - Friday, August 04, 2017

Amazon Japan has posted preorder listings for a Blu-Ray collection of Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers and Transformers 2010 - the Japanese versions of G1 Seasons 1-2 and 3, respectively. It's priced at 19,440 Yen (about $175 by the current exchange rate), is due for release on December 6th, and is region-free... but not HD-quality. Keep reading for details. According to the mechanically-translated listings below, the image quality is equal to the previous DVD release of the series, but due to the superior storage of Blu-Ray players is now held on three discs instead of however many it takes to store about 100 episodes of something. So we don't have the G1 series in HD quality, yet.

The listing also promise a new slipcase with new artwork by Transformers virtuoso Guido Guidi.

Also, a lot of the names below are mistranslated, just as an FYI. The name of the actor who played Optimus Prime is Genda Tessho, not Genda Tetsuaki, just as an example. Consult the TFWiki when in doubt!

Thanks to primalxconvoy, we've got an in-depth look at some of the Infobar phone Transformers from the au x Transformers project. These were the subject of a crowdfunding campaign in Japan, from which you would get a set of three figures decoed as Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee. A movie-inspired Optimus Prime is being released to direct retail. We have photos documenting the unboxing, as well as showing the individual figures, with size comparisons. Plus images of the instructions (in Japanese) and some details about the toys. Keep reading to see the whole works!

It's been a while since the first information hit about the collaboration project between mobile phone provider au and TakaraTomy to make transforming toys based on their Infobar handset. The first of these to be generally available is now up for preorder on TakaraTomy Mall. The Optimus Prime "ANNIN Version" is based on the white variation of the Infobar phone, and the robot elements are inspired by the movie series Optimus Prime. This product is expected for release in December, and is priced at 5400 Yen. No word on the availability of the red Optimus or the other characters shown previously. Click through for stock photos and product link!
Following our previous posts. We have a report on the Takara Tomy booth and all the Transformers products that were on display this year, thanks to Autobase Aichi. In addition to many images showing just about every angle of the amazing Transformers display. We have a show report that has been google translated from Japanese to English for those who want to pick up some of the extra details on the show.
