Last night we found out about the new anime colors variant of Masterpiece Prowl, MP-17+, which would release as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive. But surprisingly today, it looks like that will also be available for purchase in the US. US retailers, such as sponsor BigBadToyStore now have preorder listings for MP-17+, marked as a Hasbro product, and due in September. The timing - and similar pricing - sure makes this sound like an effort at a simultaneous (or as near as we can get) Masterpiece release by both Hasbro and TakaraTomy, which could have some interesting potential if it becomes a regular occurrence! The ToysRUs Australia
Facebook page has announced that now through February 25th, Australian collectors can order MP-34S Shadow Panther via the retailer website. The figure is a black recolor of MP Cheetor - based on a black recolor of 1996 Deluxe Cheetor - and is expected to ship in October and costs $109.93 AUD, or about USD $86. From Kevin Liu, we have both a set of very nice quality photos of Movie Masterpiece Barricade, now beginning to become available in Asia. The photos offer a nice overview of the toy in both modes, and helpfully give a side by side with Human Alliance Barricade, a comparison sure to be of interest to collectors wondering if it's worth upgrading. Kevin has also posted a video of the figure on Youtube so you can check it out in action. You can find that embedded below, along with mirrored photos.
In pursuit of the ultimate experience of punishment and enslavement, the fifth Movie Masterpiece figure, Barricade is inching towards general retail release. Via a user on Weibo we have a few in hand images from what may be either an early sample that got out or the initial signs of stores receiving the Decepticon police car. Time will tell on that score, we suppose. Right now we get to see some looks at the robot mode in different poses, and a good shot at the vehicle form. We've mirrored the photos for those who might not be Weibo-enabled - click through to take a look!

Much like last year, Hasbro's got some surprises ready for Asian fans with the MPM05 Barricad, MPM06 figures, that while has not been named, is clearly the Ironhide character. Read on for the full quote on these new Masterpieces to come.

Hasbro Asia's collector coin bonus for non-Japanese Asian markets is often very well presented for a little hunk of metal. But this one - seen via the Masterpiece Transformers
Facebook page - has one of the most ingenious bits of packaging yet: a sleeve designed to look like a cassette box with a double-sided package representing both Autobot and Decepticon Tapes inside! The coin itself features the head of Enemy, and the reverse calls him out along with the other figures in the set: Nightstalker, Wing Thing, and Stripes. Keep reading to see!

on Twitter, we've got a few early shots of the TakaraTomy Mall exclusive MP15/16-E Cassettebot vs Cassettetron set. Though containing an assortment of semi-obscure Autobot and Decepticon cassette characters - and Wingthing, the Action Master partner that later became a cassette character - this is most notable for Nightstalker. This gave us our first look at the base tooling clearly meant to be Steeljaw, hinting at a Masterpiece Blaster somewhere in the future. Keep reading for a quick look at the contents, and some detail shots of Nightstalker!

has posted images of MP-39 Sunstreaker's Hasbro Asia collector coin to Facebook! As is fairly typical for Hasbro Asia, the coin depicts Sunstreakers face and comes shipped in a cardboard sleeve in the shape of his chest. Keep reading to see!
TaoTaoToys on Weibo has shared two photos showing the outer box for the soon to be released Masterpiece Sunstreaker. MP-39 has its official release date in Japan at the end of this month, so it's not entirely surprising that a few pieces may have found their way out to other channels at this point. The packaging is largely the standard fare with the familiar styling and array of stock imagery we've already seen, but it's good as a start point to get the excitement going for the release in just a couple of weeks' time! Shared on Facebook by Bruce Dong, we have a first look in hand video for MPM-5 Movie Masterpiece Barricade. The video itself is not the highest quality or honestly the most clear demo of the toy, but the presenters do run through things like the moving parts, installing the spinning blade accessory weapon, and naturally, spend several minutes on the transformation. The video is in Chinese, as is so often the case with these early looks, but you can pick up the basics. We've also taken a few screencaps so you can check out some of the details more thoroughly. Keep reading to find it all in the full article!

Weibo user 小白哥乌拉诺斯
has posted scans of MPM-5 Movie Masterpiece Barricade's instructions! The transformation is, as would be expected, complex, taking 40 steps to accomplish. And that doesn't even count the extra steps needed to prepare his arm for his Daisy Wheel of Murder weapon! Keep reading to see for yourself.
