    News and Updates

    30th July 2009 - Auto Assembly 2009 Merchandise Unveiled!!

We are going to have a massive selection of convention merchandise on sale on the Registration Desk including the Convention Exclusive Comic, our new mugs, our convention magazine The Cybertronian Times and great offers on back issues, postcards and keyrings. To see a full ist, click here.

28th July 2009 - Auto Assembly 2009 Sets a NEW European Attendance Record!!!

Yes, we've done it again and set a new attendance record for a European Transformers convention and Auto Assembly 2009 hasn't even taken place yet!! At the time of writing this, we now have 425 pre-registrants which has beaten the previous record that we set in 2008 of 423 attendees. With 17 days to go before the convention and people still booking daily, and on-the-door attendees as well, this number will continue to rise further. We want to thank all of you for helping us to break this record and hopefully we will reach the magic 500!

25th July 2009 - Final Batch Of One-Day Passes Released!!

Are you planning on attending Auto Assembly 2009 for the one day? Well now is your FINAL chance as we have now released the LAST batch of single day tickets for pre-registrations! We have released a further 45 single day passes for the Saturday and Sunday and once these have sold out, the only way you will be able to get a one-day pass will be as an on-the-door attendee and these will be sold on a first come, first served basis subject to availability. We do have plenty of full weekend passes available still and these are not subject to any restrictions on sales numbers so if you want a full weekend pass you still have time to book these, but as the convention is getting closer, you don't want to miss out... To book your tickets, click here.

24th July 2009 - Holiday Inn Accommodation SOLD OUT!!!

If you have registered for Auto Assembly 2009 or are planning on booking for the convention but haven't sorted out your hotel room yet, we would like to inform you all now that the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre is now FULL. We have now arranged for overflow accommodation at the nearby Radisson SAS Hotel which is a few doors down from the Holiday Inn but rooms here are also limited so we may need to look for a SECOND overflow hotel. We strongly reccommend that you book your room NOW if you haven't already and register to secure your hotel room. We will be emailing all pre-registrants with details of hotel accommodation rates, and these will be sent to all new attendees as you book.

23rd July 2009 - Next Of Kin Perform Auto Assembly 2009 Official Theme Song!

We are pleased to announce that we now have an Official Theme Song for Auto Assembly 2009! Performed by Next Of Kin, who are playing live as part of the Saturday evening programme, the song is called "Transform" and was originally recorded and submitted to Paramount for consideration for inclusion in the soundtrack for Revenge Of The Fallen. Expect to hear the song throughout the weekend and during the opening ceremony, and Next Of Kin will have copies of the song available to buy on CD at the convention. To hear it, take a look at a music video that they edited together to promote the track on YouTube here.

22nd July 2009 - Script Reading Auditions Open!

As part of the Saturday evening entertainment at Auto Assembly 2009 there will be a script reading featuring Gregg Berger, Ian James Corlett, comic artist Simon Williams and - subject to his appearance at the convention - Neil Kaplan in a brand new script being written exclusively for Auto Assembly by Simon Furman (who is writing All Hail Megatron issue 13 which is having a convention exclusive variant cover from Nick Roche and Liam Shalloo). However, the script has more than those few characters now it's time to give YOU the chance to appear on stage with these Transformers voice actors...!

Starting now, we are casting for four roles in this short play set in the Beast Wars era and to have a chance of playing one of these characters, all you need to do is decide which part(s) you want to audition for and just send us an MP3 of you doing that voice and include your ticket number with your email! We'll listen to all of the entries and select a winner and runner up to act as an understudy incase the winner isn't available on the evening! There are just three basic rules for this competition:- 1. All entrants must be 16 or over. 2. Entrants must be FULL WEEKEND attendees and available for the Saturday evening programme. 3. You must pre-register for the convention and auditions must be received by no later than 31st July 2009. Apart from that, the auditions are open to everyone, INCLUDING our guests! Naturally, Auto Assembly Committee members and their families are not eligible to enter.

We have open audtions for the following Beast Wars characters:- Megatron, Razorbeast, Dinobot and Waspinator so get your files to us as soon as possible! You can create dialogue yourself, perform existing lines from the TV show (or the comic in the case of Razorbeast) or request a short extract from the actual script and we will send a small piece for you to record but you need to hurry! To submit your audition, email it to us here.

    22nd July 2009 - Auction List Online

We have now listed the first selection of great items for our 2009 Charity Auction and if you're looking after original artwork or autographs then this is definitely going to be the year for you! We have about 20 pieces of original artwork on the way this year as well as autographs spanning G1 right up to Transformers Animated. We've only just started to list them but keep checking the list here to see what we have on offer for all of you coming to the convention and all you non-attendees...

We are pleased to announce that we have added our fifteenth guest to our line-up this year in the shape of Jon Davis-Hunt.
