BotCon 2008 - Transformers Club Panel Live Report

By Primus on Saturday, April 26, 2008

TCC Year 4 - Panel: Pete Sinclair, Lanny Latham, Ben Yee, Forest Lee, Tret Troop

+ Transtech Comic for year 4 with Alex Milne on art. This is basically a big commercial for getting people to join the club.

+ 3 stories will be offered. "Gone to far" starring jackpot and hubcap. "Withered hope"- the gobots returned and "I, Lowtech" with Nick Roche on art.

+ The TCC magazine is now online with Profiles, mini-mayhem, Mac cops, Contests, club boards and "Me Grimlock" Fan Pub Comics.

+ Title for this year is "Shattered Glass" - the comic for the convention written by Ben Yee.

+ They used the original Marvel 4-issue series as the basis and wanted to have fun with it.

+ They are limited to what sculpts they can use so they have to get creative.

, + They enjoy feedback and constructive criticism so they can improve, cause this is a work in progress.

+ Shatteredverse Pros Fiction - since there was a huge response from that april fools comic. "Dungeons and Grimlock" will be the first issue.

+ More Shattered - 3 shattered Prose Fiction stories. Shattered Club Exclusive is coming.

+ "Me Grimlock" has been replaced by "I Grimlock."

+ The Nightbeat comic is in limbo. Might be a pack in comic with the Nightbeat club exclusive.

+ Issue 22 of the club mag will have two pages of profiles that deal with the Nightbeat story

+ A story for the Seacons is up in the air.

+ After Transtech they may be going to Shattered Universe.

+ Might see a clean shaven Scourge in Shattered Universe show up, drawn by Don Figueroa.

+ Will we see a "Crisis On Infinite Cybertron" with Transtech. The Axiom Nexus was sorta a setup for that type concept. So short answer is yes. (translation, they basically stole the idea from DC Comics Crisis On Infinite Earths storyline)

+ There isn't an actual "Crisis on Infinite Cybertron" story coming. thats just what the fan called this Nexus/Transtech stuff.

+ They say the club doubled the number of members since last year. Now they are asking for members to get a friend a join, as a bigger club they can do more.

+ Page count of the magazine is based on printer issues in batches of 16 pages. They use an American printer, so to do more pages costs more. The more members, the more they can offset the cost.
