New Animated Roadbuster Ultra Magnus Images

By bwbm on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 @ 03:06:37 PM

Thanks to ACToys' "chenkofs" for providing us some new looks at Transformers Animated Leader Roadbuster Ultra Magnus, the green and orange repaint of the Animated Ultra Magnus figure.

Take a look at the images below.

Mostly the fourth one. Making it a mutant half-breed made it an incomplete homage and, more importantly, just plain ugly.

That's not a good thing... Never liked Man-At-Arms. And preferred King Hsss to Skeletor

That's the idea. I think he looks like Man-At-Arms, personally.

Bought Ultra Magnus online as it was about the same price as he would have been locally. He is a really nice figure (with a few drawbacks) and definetely worth $40. This new version however is not. The colors are ok but like everyone said, the blue should have been changed!

How can this figure manage to irk so many fans? 1/ Classics Universe Roadbuster is out 2/ The original G1 isnt that hard to get 3/ Animated is all about the show characters and not tertiary ones (that, after all, is what Universe is all about) 4/ This version is amutant half-breed between animated M... read more

Hmmm... the original is better. And I agree with everyone else that Magnus is hard to find. I found him in my area on a fluke at 6:30 in the morning at a store I don't normally go to regularly. That was around the end of October/beginning of November. That was the only time I have ever seen h... read more

These Leader Class repaints are a BIG pass for me, and I will agree... this one would be a lot better without the blue (did they have a bunch of extra parts from Magnus that they needed to get rid of or something?). Now when's Animated Omega Supreme coming?

I'd completely dig him if it weren't for the blue head and hammer... sigh. Such is life.

I just bought the regular version last Sunday, and I love it. That said, I do think this Roadbuster homage is neat, but I will not be buying it. IF I cave and buy a repaint leader, it'd be the Shadow Megatron. But I really can't see buying a 45 dollar repaint.
