Toy Fair 2010 - Transformers Generations To Include Drift, War For Cybertron

By bwbm on Saturday, February 13, 2010

We are live at Toy Fair and we have some awesome Transformers news for you in the name Transformers: Generations. This line fits sort of like the Universe - part 3 - but will only encompass deluxe figures. To learn about what's in store for us on this line, which includes IDW Publishing's Drift and War For Cybertron figures based off of the video game, keep reading! Transformers Generations gives them the flexibility to include everything that is not applicable anywhere else.

The figure will only encompass deluxe figures, like said above, and so far, will include the following figures:

Drift
Based off of the IDW Publishing-created character, this figure was created to broaden the horizons of their TF line. Hasbro during the showcase period said that they felt this figure made sense and released it as soon as they could (after the on again and off again rumor that the figure was canceled).

Thrust
This Conehead will not be the only one that we will get. We are promised that more seekers are indeed coming. BotCon and Comic-Con will reveal more.

Darkmount
Shock! Gasp! (Literally) Looks exactly like Straxus (at least the head), as he was seen in the Marvel comic books! Unfortunately they couldn't secure the name, so it has become Darkmount. The figure is truly a triple changer. Where some triple changers have iffy third modes, this one sports an artillery gun, tank vehicle mode, and good ole' robot.

Cybertronian Bumblebee
Based off the character in the upcoming Activision Publishing video game Transformers: War for Cybertron, this character will also come under this line.

Cybertronian Optimus Prime
Based off the character in the upcoming Activision Publishing video game Transformers: War for Cybertron, this character will also come under this line.

The figure was indeed missing a piece from his chest when we saw early images of this toy. The additional chest piece obviously helps with the figure's physical and overall look a lot.

Cybertronian Megatron
Based off the character in the upcoming Activision Publishing video game Transformers: War for Cybertron, this character will also come under this line. Unfortunately the figure was not showcased, so we cannot give you more information on this figure at this time.

These War for Cybertron figures were integrated with Generation 1 heritage and also what Hasbro knows as a "cool design."
