This news has been making the rounds lately, but we did not want to say anything until we got some solid information, but according to one of our sponsors TFSource, the unreleased Transformers Prime First Edition figures from Hasbro, which include the voyager class Optimus Prime and Bulkhead, as well as the already released figures, have been cancelled and will not be released in the U.S. under the First Edition packaging.
Beyond this, nothing has been confirmed and any information at all is rather scarce right now.
While TFSource posted on their Facebook page that while there may be a chance that the figures will be released under the Robots In Disguise packaging, nothing is confirmed and these figures may not see the light of day.
The
First Edition versions of the figures have been plagued with distribution issues, including various Toys R Us stores not seeing any supply of the figures.
As you may know, a different version of voyager class, now called Powerizer, Optimus Prime
has already been sighted around the country.
TFSource says that they will work with all customers who still have unfulfilled First Edition orders, to either convert to Robots In Disguise-packaging orders, or cancel them altogether.
Forum member Lord_Onslaught has confirmed the same information from a recent Big Bad Toy Store newsletter has provided the same information.
Big Bad Toy Store has also been sending the following message to customers who have pre-ordered the First Edition figures:
We apologize that we have learned that Hasbro has canceled these figures. We will be listing new TF Prime preorders on Wednesday 2/1. Some of these may convert to new listings and some will be canceled. We will email you with updates between now and Wednesday.
Thanks!

We have reached out to other sellers as well as Hasbro themselves for comment, but given the timing of this information, we will most likely not hear anything until the beginning of next week.
