White Sands, NM To Double As Egypt

By bwbm on Tuesday, September 23, 2008

The Entertainment Tonight episode that featured a "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" set report has just aired and we have a quick wrap-up for you. Nothing new was really revealed, but it shows some characters are crossing paths sometime in the film.

On location at White Sands, New Mexico, the report showed that Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, and Josh Duhamel were all on set during the filming.

The area doubled as the Middle East in "Transformers."

According to images posted at the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog, the area will double as Egypt. The website incorrectly identifies the flag as Jordan, which was also revealed as another shooting location.

It is unknown if principal photography will move overseas as Brian Austin Green noted during an interview last month.

The video showed the characters running in the midst of explosions, as well as F-16s bombing the area.

Mr. LaBeouf commented to Entertainment Tonight, "this is nothing that I have ever done before."

Also, thanks to "TRANS-Lego-MaN" for pointing out that it was confirmed during the report that there will be 18 robots featured in the film!

This is relatively close to screenwriter Roberto Orci's suggestion that there may be ten robots on each side.
